Tessa is honored to join the Riverbend team as a Fellow, and excited to dive into working with the preserve and students. They bring their experiences working with and teaching about bugs, birds, reptiles, and mammals, and are ready to expand their knowledge about environmental conservation and preservation. Teaching about the natural world brings her joy as she gets to see others grow in their enthusiasm and love for plants and animals, and reinforces her hope for the future of the environment. They are especially interested in the topics of invasive species, ecological restoration, and urban/suburban sustainability. Tessa has always loved animals, and is now exploring the ways that she can contribute to protecting them and their habitats. Her personal hobbies include wildlife photography, creative writing, birding, and crafting. They graduated from Colgate University in 2023 with a BA in Environmental Biology.Â
